Breast cancer starts in the mammary gland cells and is more common in women. However, about 1% of breast cancer affect men.
Approximately 80% of breast cancers are discovered by the woman herself when performing breast palpation, which is why all women and men should perform a monthly breast self-exam.
In women of childbearing age, from 20 years of age, it should be performed after the end of the menstrual period.
You should maintain monthly surveillance if you are breastfeeding and self-examine after breastfeeding.
In menopause, maintain the habit of breast self-examination, always on the same day of each month.
